Snowy Day

Like many here on the east coast-ish region, we are getting a full day of snow. Likely will be 4-6 inches, at least. The Snake is in heaven. Although school was NOT canceled, so I'm in heaven.

I found this site (on a parenting blog called Rocks in my Dryer) and thought it was so much fun. So for our friends without snow, you can still make your own. Let it load and then click on "create your own snowflake." Go on, try it. You'll like it.
Need a Snow Day?

Do you like the snow? Or do you dread it? Are you truly disappointed if it isn't a white Christmas?

I do like a white Christmas. And I do like sledding.

I don't like feeling cold and cleaning up muddy floors.

How's that for an answer?

For me, Christmas isn't Christmas without a blanket of snow. It involved gifts like skis and sleds, new snow pants and thick socks. And everyone getting together outside in the afternoon to play in the snow. A foot was about what we always had. I definitely get disappointed when we don't have a white christmas. The last few years, it's been green, and it's been odd. This year my daughter is getting a big girl bike...and I'll be amazed if she doesn't get to use it. As I expect it to be green again.

And I'm so jealous about the 6 inches! If that happened in MD, the whole state would close down. Everyone's already freaked because we *may* get some snow on Saturday. At least I'll get a good laugh when I head to the grocery store for some last minute baking ingredients tomorrow, and find too many people with shopping carts full in case they get snowbound- because of a few inches.

I'm from a place that had snow 8 months of the year so while I like it when it comes to Vancouver, I also very much like it when it leaves. It's pretty and it's different (compared to rain) but I left snow for a reason.

Although to be all hypocritical, I love it for skiing. Which I'm going to do a LOT of in January if I get a BFN. But that's what snow's good for - skiing and pretty, and then it can go away.

I like the snow. Though, the kid's daycare was closed today - which they announced in a 5:45am phone call - and of course, her snow pants and boots are at school. Oh well.

So, she's at Grandma's, husband is heading home early because he claims it's "blizzarding", and I'm in my office watching was looks more like rain falling in the city.

SNOW! YAY!

And we are getting another storm on Friday so the E Coast will get another dumping in about a week or so.

Cowboy and I always go skiing on Christmas so we always have a white Christmas. We are selfish that way. We ditch our families, pack up our ski camper and head out. If this kid makes it, it (ha!) will have to learn that the best kinds of Christmases have much more powder than presents.

On other fronts, please know that I am thinking and praying for you. Good for you on not keeping pee sticks in the house. I am the same way. I had to wait until testing day to buy them.

I live on the upside down part of the world.

Christmas is always barbequeues, stinking hot weather and flies!

I love the snow. We don't get near enough of it here.

It is snowing here today, but we probably won't get much more than an inch or two.

We definitely have a snow day today. I'm going to try and take some pictures to post later today.
